Congratulations to our super star high school student, Saranya Anantapantula, for getting accepted into the University of Pennsylvania’s Management and Technology program. Impressive!
Another productive year done for the WilsonLab! Excited to see what 2024 has in store for us.
The lab organized another successful holiday cookie swap that included several labs. I was out sampling green ponds but saw a bald eagle relaxing in a tree (sorry the resolution isn’t great…). Fortunately, the students saved me some sweets when I got back to the lab.
The lab is losing two wonderful members. Suzie Tenison (below) has completed her M.S. (non-thesis) and Anna Claire Mollica has completed her undergraduate degree. Congrats! We are expecting big things from both of you. Of course, you will be missed. And, yes, Kate is levitating in the bottom picture.
Hannah has set a new record. Her second M.S. chapter was just published and she completed her M.S. last August. Nice work, Hannah, and rest of the lab. Large-scale field experiments are where it is at!
Matt’s collaboration with Morgan Steffen’s lab at James Madison just produced a nice paper in Harmful Algae. Excellent work!
Super quick trip to attend SETAC in Louisville to share Saranya’s meta-analysis paper. Michael and Ashley stayed the whole week and got much from the experience.
Had a chance to cross a trip to Japan off of my bucket list. Best part was that I got to take my daughter, Lily, with me. Hiroshima, Hakata, and Kyoto were beautiful. People were so friendly. Food was delicious. Temples were spectacular. And the 20th International Conference on Harmful Algae was terrific.
Hannah’s first MS thesis chapter has been published. This project was a nice collaboration with our USDA ARS colleague, Allen Torbert, that involved many students in the lab. Exciting!
